Every lab prescription scan, specialist referral package and case-thread file you send through Intake is kept automatically and filed to the patient. Nothing to upload twice.
Each account gets its own encryption key. File names and patient labels are sealed separately. A 2 GB CBCT is read back in byte ranges, so the viewer opens a slice without pulling the whole scan.
Drop an intraoral scan, a zipped CBCT or a lab design file. Uploads are encrypted in your browser, go straight to storage, and resume if the tab closes.
Send moves it, Bridge discusses it, the lab makes it, the specialist treats it. Each of those leaves a file, and the file lands here, filed to the patient.
Keep any package you send or receive through Send. It outlives the package's expiry, filed to the patient and encrypted under your own key.
About SendA scan or photo dropped into a Bridge conversation with a colleague or a lab is kept with the case thread it came from.
About BridgeMulti-office groups and DSOs get one view across every office without merging anything.
Every office keeps its own Store, its own encryption key and its own bill. Nothing is pooled and nothing moves.
Group owners and admins browse and search across every office from one screen, read-only: open a scan, download it, send it on.
Managers see only the offices assigned to them. Other group staff see nothing until a group owner gives them a seat.
Sign in with your work email: the same account you use for Send. Practices on Intake open Store from the Files tab in their dashboard.
Files arrive on their own from lab prescriptions, referrals and case threads, or drop anything up to 10 GB. Practice Autopilot pulls scans and x-rays straight from your PMS and the imaging bridge.
Open any scan in the built-in STL, CBCT, DICOM, photo or PDF viewer, then share it as a PIN-locked package, refer it, or send it to the lab.
10 GB for every account, personal or practice, on every plan. After that, storage is sold in 100 GB packs that get cheaper as you add them, starting at $9.99 a month.
Yes. Every account has its own key held in a hardware key service; every file has its own key under it. Names, labels and patient references are sealed separately. We can open a file to show it to you or to send it; nobody else can.
No. Send moves files; Store keeps them. Everything you send through Send can be kept in Store, and anything in Store can be shared through Send with a PIN. One sign-in covers both.
STL, PLY and OBJ meshes open in 3D. DICOM and zipped CBCT exports open as a slice stack. Photos, x-rays and PDFs open in the viewer. Lab design files such as 3OXZ or Medit projects are stored, versioned and sent without pretending to read them.
Yes. A lab that receives a case can save the scans to its own free Store from the lab portal or from the package page, and sign in with its email. Specialists get the same choice on every referral package.
Uploads pause until you add a pack or empty the trash. Viewing, downloading, sharing and deleting keep working, and files that would normally be kept automatically wait in Send for their usual window.
On Practice Autopilot and above, images from Open Dental and files from the imaging bridge's watch folders pull in on their own and file to the patient's chart. Choose the folders from your dashboard.
Any file or folder becomes a PIN-locked package or a case thread with a lab or specialist. Paid storage includes Send Unlimited.
The intraoral scan and photos on every digital lab prescription are kept the moment the Rx goes out, so a remake starts from the same files.
About lab prescriptionsThe records you send with a specialist referral are kept under the patient, so the follow-up never starts with a second request for the same x-rays.
Referrals in BridgeDirectory → Send → Store
A dentist who finds you in the directory can send records straight from your listing. They travel through Send and are kept in your Store, filed to the patient.
Find your listingYes. Store is covered by the same Business Associate Agreement as Send and the rest of Intake. Every open, download and share is logged per account.
No, and that is deliberate. Each office keeps its own Store, encryption key and bill. Group owners and admins get a read-only library and search across every office; managers see only the offices assigned to them. Files never move between offices, and nothing is created in an office that has not opened its Store.
Yes. Open Dental keeps images as ordinary files in its A to Z folder, so they are yours to copy. On Practice Autopilot and above, Autopilot pulls scans and x-rays from the practice software and the imaging bridge into Store as they arrive, filed to the patient. Our Open Dental image storage guide covers where the files live, how to back them up and how to take them with you.
Where Open Dental keeps images, and how to keep themSend is a pipe: packages expire. Store is where your scans, CBCTs, x-rays, photos and lab prescriptions stay, filed by patient and case, encrypted under your own key, ready to send, refer or ship to the lab again. Upload, store, share, send, refer, lab send.
